Devone Jones

Director and Screenwriter Devone Jones screenwriter and filmmaker who hails from Far Rockaway, Queens, New York. Devone served seven years in the U.S. Navy. Now he is a freelance photographer, screenwriter, and independent filmmaker. “During my time as a screenwriter, I accepted a job teaching filmmaking to children. The youth are open-minded and ready to be challenged. The kids learned how to come up with an idea, operate a camera, act out the roles and edit the short film. The determination was something that made me enjoy the craft more. The parents were proud of what their kids had accomplished in just one week. As some of the kids returned to future media camps, their skills developed, and the creative process was not only fun but rewarding. They created 9-minute short films and sometime two short films in one day. They quickly learn how to edit and learn stop-motion animation.” –Devone.
